What I'm Working On...

I have been working on the Seamless Kimono baby sweater.  The pattern is easy to follow and a lot of fun to knit.
This afternoon I came home from work and decided to go ahead and make the pillowcase dress that I have been planning.  It was so easy - I can't believe I was nervous about doing it!!

Pinterest Inspired Menu

I decided to try out some of the recipes that I have been collecting on Pinterest.  Actually only one was found on Pinterest, the other two were found on the scavenger hunts that inevitably result from my forays into Pinterest.  I made Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken, Paula Deen's twice baked potato casserole (found on Pinterest) and Peanut Butter and Brownies.  Yummy!!

So Cute!!

I made these infant boots from a pattern on The Molly Chicken blog.  I bought the fabric many years ago when Piece Goods fabric store was going out of business.  Little did I know back then that it would be the perfect fabric for these baby "rain" boots.  They will be perfect for a little one 0-3 months.

Hurray - I Finished!!

What an incredible feeling to actually complete a knitting project!  This is the first knitting project that I have revised a pattern, picked up a drop stitch without help and finished relatively quickly.  As I knit the sweater, I felt my confidence increasing.  The sweater is not error free, but I am pretty proud of the finished product.  Just have to find some cute buttons...

Life Gets in the Way of Crafting

Last weekend I thought that I was going to be able to craft.  Silly me!  I did manage during the week to complete the sleeves on the baby boy cardigan (and learn a few lessons) along the way.  I hope that I will be able to finish this weekend...

The Weekend At Last!

The first week back to school with students was challenging to say the least.  For some strange reason (maybe because we adults run ourselves into the ground during the holiday season), the teachers have very little energy but the students have abundant energy!!
I am looking forward to a crafting weekend.  I am plugging away on the baby boy sweater.  I have made it to the sleeves - hurray!

Home Sweet Home aka Back to Reality

Well the ski trip was fun and the youth were great.  We stayed at Lake Junaluska and skied at Cataloochee Ski Resort.  This is a picture of Lake Junaluska, one of the most peaceful places on earth.

Now we are back to school and work.  I crocheted a baby sweater on the trip to North Carolina while listening to The Biography of Steve Jobs on my ipod.  I used the three hour baby sweater pattern that I found on the CrochetKitten blog.
